Orpha Hardesty

Orpha Mae Hardesty passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 14th, 2016. Orpha was the kind of lady who measured her life by the incredible moments that brought her joy. Some of those moments included marrying Paul Hardesty in 1957 and surviving 59 years of his jokes, bringing her two boys into the world- Danny (Danita) and David, and helping love on her grandchildren- Heather (Roger Shaw) and Nicole (David Colburn) and great-grandbaby, Harper. Orpha was also an honorary mother/grandmother to several generations of neighborhood kids. She was there to provide treats, hugs, and wisdom. Orpha excelled at finishing Paul's punchlines, remembering the dates of loved one's birthdays, and caring for everyone she came in contact with. Orpha has always had a fighting spirit, but her body simply could not keep up. She is now reunited with her parents Sadie and Cloied H. McClellan and 5 siblings in heaven. Also survived by her sister, Dorothy Allen of Huntington, WV.

Visitation Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 6-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
