Edward "Ed" Cruz
July 21, 1929 — October 6, 2016
Edward A. Cruz, 87, went to be with his Lord on Oct. 6, 2016.
He was preceded in death by parents, Goldie and Frank Cruz; and brother, Robert Cruz.
Ed is survived by wife of 47 years, Barb; children, Jeanie (Bob) Hickey, Mary Cruz, Ed (Gail) Cruz, Joyce (Tom) Barbazette, Randy (Kayla) Cruz, Lori (Dale) Smith, JoEllen (Clay) Johnson, and Angela (Todd) Walker; 21 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Rich, Don, Jo, and Frank.
Ed was baptized into Christ April 8, 1994. Ed coached women's softball for 27 years. He played softball, football, basketball, bowling, and golf well into his eighties. He loved to watch Pittsburgh Steelers football and admired Martina Navratilova's tennis career. Ed "Old Man" retired from Kal Kan after 25 years of service.
Visitation Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at 11 am at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Alton Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
