Marvin R. Smith, Sr

Marvin R. Smith, Sr, 77, of Grove City, Ohio went to be with his wife, Patty, of 55 years on Sunday, November 13, 2016. Marvin was born to Roy and Wilma (Crabtree) Smith on December 29, 1938 in South Webster, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patricia; siblings, Alice, Dick, Lyle, Donald, Margaret and Ronald; grandson, Colton.

Marvin is survived by his children, Teisha (Walter), Marvin, Jr., Mark (Trish), Brooke, Rose, Destoney, and Mikey; grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Lauren, Maddie, Luke, Sam, Grace, McKenzie, Robby, Aiden, Jordan, Camren, Avah and Jayla; siblings, Eugene (Carol), Helen, Bob (Carol), Gary (Connie), Vickie and Carolyn (Ronnie). Marvin will be deeply missed by many other family members and friends too numerous to name.

He proudly served his country in the Army in the 7th Missile Battalion, 5th Artillery on the Korean DMZ.

Marvin retired from Plaskolite after 44 dedicated years. He was an avid sportsman. He was a wonderful, loving father, grandfather and husband who loved his family deeply.

Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City on Friday November 18 from 11-1 and 6-8. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 1 pm with burial to follow at Concord Cemetery, Grove City, Ohio.
