John P. Carney, 59 of Gahanna, passed away on February 17, 2017. He was born on September 23, 1957 to the late John F. and Catherine Mary (Augustine) Carney in Youngstown, OH. John worked many years at ABB, Westerville, OH, he was active with the American Red Cross, Ham Radio (WB8YIJ), and Ski Patrol at Clear Fork, Butler, OH. John is survived by wife of 29 years Sue (Steiner) Carney; children John Richard (Tesslynn) and James Patrick Carney; grandson Caliber Michael Gamgee Carney; siblings Karen Namesnik, Thomas (Carol) Carney, Diane (Terry) Black, and Debra (Scott) Kowal.
Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus on Wednesday, February 22, from 5pm to 8pm and on Thursday, February 23, from 5pm to 8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Snow Trails Ski Patrol, 3100 Possum Run Rd., Mansfield, OH 44903.
