Jeanette Carol Emrick Lyttle, age 63, entered into heaven after a long struggle with cancer. She was born on April 30, 1953 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Bill E. and Marcella K. Emrick.
Jean is preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her beloved husband, of 33 years, Rev. Ben Lyttle, of Canal Winchester, Ohio; her mother, of Alcoa, TN; brother, Jeffrey (Kay) Emrick, of Friendsville, TN; Nieces: Melissa (Russell) Emrick, of Friendsville, TN, and Heather (Brian) Peddicord, of Oak Ridge, TN; Great-niece Isabella Hope; Great-nephews, Rhys and Grayson; as well as many dear and faithful friends.
Jean was a graduate of Brookhaven HS in 1971. She worked at Chemical Abstract as a Translator and served some 30 years as an activity director and social worker around Ohio at various nursing care facilities, receiving countless awards and recognition from her activity professional affiliations. She served as the pastor's wife in a variety of United Methodist Churches served by her husband. Jean also enjoyed creative crafting, especially with card and album-making with the Scrapbook Cordettes and she loved to cook, "shopped till she dropped", sharing her husband's love for pastoral ministry. She was an especially gifted member of the United Methodist Church most of her life, contributing much of her time, talents, and devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the best blessing that her husband, Ben, ever received from God.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393Broadway, Grove City, from 4:30 - 7:30pm. A service of celebration will be held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at the funeral home starting at 1:00pm. Services will be performed by Rev. Dr. Callon Holloway, Bishop Emeritus of the Lutheran Church, interim pastor of Asbury S. U.M. Church.
