Erma L. Gibson

Erma L. Gibson, 85, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Erma was born in Canton, OH on November 22, 1931 to George and Margaret (Eldridge) Evans and is preceded in death by her parents; son, Waverly Woods; siblings, Eugene Bond, Virginia Fite, Henry Pearson Jr, Carla Franklin; adopted parents, Henry and Madeline Pearson of Canton, OH.

She is survived by her children Florence "Rainey" (Clarence) Clifton, Frances Webb, Claxton "CK" (Tobby) Woods, Gail Woods, Roy "Danny" (Leah) Gibson; Michael (Lorraine) Taylor, Henry Fite, Clarence (Tina) Fite, Richard Fite, Stephanie (Kem) Evans, Stephen Fite; sisters, Elizabeth Newkirk and Arlene Davis; 26 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Erma was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean Conflict. She was a former member of the Victory Lutheran Church of Youngstown, OH, presently a member of the Good Shepard Lutheran Church and worked 36 years as a nurse's aide for the Youngstown North Hospital Association.
