Dean R. Bailey, 73, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Hilliard, Ohio after a long, hard-fought battle with Parkinson's disease.
Dean was born in Jackson, Ohio on July 28, 1943 to parents John T. Bailey and Edith M. (Johnson) Bailey. He graduated from Jackson High School, attended Franklin University, and later graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from Regent University. Dean had a long career in Information Technologies and worked many years as a Systems Analyst Project Manager at Frigidaire.
Beloved by many, Dean is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Karen; daughters Julie Moore, and Tammie (Christopher) Bucci; cherished grandchildren who affectionately called him Papa: Joshua Moore, Chloe Moore, Addison Bucci, and Aiden Bucci; and sisters Donna Bailey and Connie Foringer.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents and brother Blaine Bailey.
Dean served his country by enlisting in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Dean earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. In addition he was a Civil War and railroad enthusiast. Dean and his family lived in Grove City and attended Grove City United Methodist before moving to Hilliard. He was a kind and tender man who was loved and will be missed by many family and friends.
Visitations will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, on Wednesday May 17, 2017 from 6-8pm and on Thursday May 18, 2017 starting at 10am until time of service at 11am. A graveside service will follow at Concord Cemetery. Donations may be made in Dean's memory to the National Parkinson Foundation, Ohio Chapter.
