William Vernon "Bill" Niles, 56, of Grove City, OH was promoted to his glorious heavenly home on June 22, 2017 at the Kobacker House Hospice, Columbus, OH after a brief, hard fought battle with cancer. Bill was born in South Charleston, WV to his godly parents, Martha Joan Niles Huffman and the late John Weslie "Pete" Niles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Wood Niles, 1 step-daughter, Hope (Damein) Weatherspoon, 2 grandsons, Damein Weatherspoon Jr. and Mason Weatherspoon, 1 unborn granddaughter, Faith Weatherspoon, loving mother, Martha Joan Niles Huffman, loving mother-in-law, Elizabeth Wood, brother, John (Yuri) Niles of Kyoto, Japan, 2 sisters, Pam (Randy) Heib of Letart, WV, Martha Sue Niles of Leon, WV, many nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law and friends.
Bill graduated from Point Pleasant High School in Point Pleasant West Virginia and Marshall University, Huntington, WV majoring in Business Management. He had a successful career in retail management until his health declined. Bill had a great sense of humor and was a big practical joker. He loved working in his yard and flower garden. In high school he played trombone and was a drum major in the Black Knight Band under director Gary Stewart, whom he greatly admired. He loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, but most of all he loved his family and his Lord. His life impacted many lives. Bill was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Grove City, OH. He loved singing in the church choir, served as Deacon and member of the Men's Group. While at Marshall he was a member of "Prowl" a campus Christian ministry.
Visitation will be held from 4-8pm, Monday, June 26, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home and Crematory, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 2pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 4227 Broadway, Grove City, OH, conducted by Pastor Robert Tolar and Pastor Bob Bonderant.
Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
