Althea Ross

Althea Marie Ross,63, and Tuskegee, Alabama native passed away September 1,2017. Althea was born in Tuskegee, Alabama to the late Melvin Granvel Ross, Sr. and the late Juanita Bristow Ross.

Althea attended the Tuskegee Institute School of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with Honors in 1979 to then work in veterinary private practice in Philadelphia, PA to which she worked several years until the she was then federally hired by the FDA to work in the USDA branch as an Inspection Supervisor of Poultry Products in Cornelia, GA. Althea then raised her first and only son and worked for 27 additional years until her disease forced her into an early retirement in 2010. Althea then continued fighting her disease of Multiple-Sclerosis for an additional 7 years in Columbus, Ohio, until she succumb to the sickness in her sleep in 2017.

Althea is survived by her brothers William Ross and wife Felicia Ross, Melvin Granvel Ross, Jr. and wife Betty Ross, her sister Juanita Ross, her nephews Michael, Markus, Malcolm, and Matthew, her niece Alicia, and her son Stephen. Althea lead long full life, that of Compassionate Love & Laughter to which she brought Brilliance, Beauty, with a Vibrant Colorful Sheer Sharp Wit. She will and shall be sincerely missed.
