James Luther Richmond, age 76, of Grove City, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018 at Mt. Carmel Hospital after a short illness, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 20, 1941 in Pike County, OH to the late Stuart and Ruth Richmond.
James was a Vietnam Veteran and Proudly Served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a long time bus driver retiring first from COTA and then from Hilliard Schools. James was outgoing and never met a stranger. He was always the life of the party and had an infectious laugh.
He is predeceased by his wife Carrie Lynn, Granddaughter Eden Rae Adams, Brothers Keith (Liz), Phil (Helen) and Tiny Richmond and sisters Lila Cottle, Sharon Bowne (Farrell).
James is survived by his special friend Myrtle Butler and daughter Lisa Welches (Jeremy Grove), sons Rob (Debbie), Jimmy (Vicki), Chris (Naomi) and Darren Richmond, and step-children Cherie Beirau (Joe) and Bill Walton (Pam). Siblings Linda Hoff (Dale), Kathy Young (Jay) and Lee Richmond (Brenda). Grandchildren Riley Adams (Gen), Anthony Welches, Josh, Max, Heather and Lindsey Richmond, Jessica Colley (Mitch), Keara Rankin, Lora Cox (Jimmy), Shaun Queen (Annette), Rod Beirau, Tim Boyer, Kyle Walton and Carla Sgambellone. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2018 at Newcomer, Grove City, from 4-6pm with a service to begin at 6pm.
