Robert Raymond Molter

Robert Raymond Molter, 87, of Columbus, passed away suddenly Friday, March 2, 2018 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

He was born May 11, 1930 in Columbus, son of the late Edward and Margarite Clay Molter.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth O'Neil Molter; brothers, Kenneth (Jean) Molter, Edward (Jean) Molter, Fred Molter and Clay (Winne) Molter; sister, Clara (Harold) Prahl.

He was a corrections officer at the Ohio State Penitentiary with seven years of service. Robert also retired from the Columbus City Schools as a carpenter with thirty-six years of service.

He is survived by his sons, Robert (Lisa Dyson) Molter and Jim (Christy) Molter; daughter, Janice (Richard) Blackburn; sisters, Mildred (Jack) Ware and Mary (Pat Howard) Molter; grandchildren, Jasen Plets, Ashanti Dyson, Tiffany (Ron) Legg, Travis (Audrey) Molter and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.

Funeral service will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
