Ronald A Smith

Ronald A. Smith, age 75 of Columbus, passed away on March 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born on September 26, 1942 to the late Lester and Jane (Duncan) Smith in Brownsville, PA. Ronald served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force. He was a dedicated officer with the Columbus City Police Department and retired after 21 years of service. After his retirement he competed as a touring member of the Senior Professional Bowlers Association and was an avid golfer. Ronald is survived by children Rick (Laurie) Smith and Lori McKnight, grandchildren Haley McKnight, Brady Loch, Caroline and Lucy Smith, great grandson Noah Michael, siblings Erma Newman, Lola Rudge, Annette Maurer and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol S. Smith, siblings Robert, Gary and Charles Smith.

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd., Columbus, OH on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm.

Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11am with Pastor Larry Brown officiating.

Burial to follow at Blendon Central Cemetery, Westerville, OH.
