Charles E. Smith Sr.

Charles E. Smith Sr., 84, of Columbus, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at his residence.
He was born November 22, 1933 in Columbus, son of the late John E. and Nannie McClain Smith.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Smith; grandson, James "JJ" Smith; brother, Albert Smith; son-in-law, James "Jamie" Shoaf; daughter-in-law, Miki Smith.
He served in the Marines during the Korean Conflict. Charles is survived by his sons, Jim (Anna) Richcreek, Charles (Brenda) Jr., Jeff (Diane), Jim (Rom), John and Mark (Lori) Smith; daughters, Sandy Shoaf, Kimberly Eichenlaub and Connie Miles; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; special friend, Shorty Courtright and beloved dog, Scottie.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 10:00-12:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.
