Kathleen "Kathy" Johnson, AKA Kitty & Margaret, age 72, passed away Saturday, December 22, 2018. She was born on May 28, 1946 in Wheeling, WV. Kathy was a loving wife, mom, grandmother and lifelong friend to so many.
She never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. Her dad always said, "When they made "Kitty", they broke the mould, because she is one of a kind." She retired from Janitrol after 20+ years, was a bingo bus coordinator for 20+ years and an income tax preparer for 38 years. Her customers were not only customers, but also dear friends. Everybody would remember her from her distinct yelling of "Whoa!" anytime she was excited. Also, anytime she was in a group photo or taking photos of someone else, she had to get a second shot with two thumbs up.
Surviving family includes husband, Emmett "Bo" Johnson; their wedding song "Keeper of the Stars.," beloved lap dog, Beiber Johnson; children, Roger (Jamie) Staten, Randy Staten, Drema (Todd) Ward, Tammy Hatfield and Jim Staten; grandchildren, Tyler and Jessica Staten, Todd (Melissa) Ward, Sharon "Sissy" and Jeremy Tolliver, Zachary (Savannah) Ward, Chase Ward, Brooklyn (Danny) Fondriest, Devon Staten, Katelyn "Katie" Staten, Kevan (Tiffany) Hatfield, Chelsie (James) Seymour and Drew Hatfield; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; siblings, Sonny (Flo), Pete (Menda), June (Ruby), Donna (Ken), Nancy (Dave), Margaret (Charles), Sharon (Steve), Brenda (Jeff) and Kathy (Bob); dear friends, Angie and Carol; also survived by many loving, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Cleona Auten; brother, Robert "Bud"; sisters, Pat (Don), Mary and Betty (Marvin).
Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Grove City, 3393 Broadway. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Danny Vanscoy officiating.
Burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
