Paul A. Witherspoon

February 4, 1940 — September 13, 2019

Paul A. Witherspoon, 79, of Baltimore, passed away Friday, September 13, 2019, at Fairfield Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.

He was a graduate of Liberty Union High School class of 1958, and Bliss College.

Paul was an Air Force Mechanic for 6 years, and a Bank Loan Officer. He was also a gifted auto mechanic, and used his talents to work on ATVs, air conditioners, lawn mowers and other equipment, selflessly helping family and friends by sharing his knowledge and abilities. He had a genuine love of the woods, cutting and selling firewood for 35 years, and hunting coon and fox for much of his life. He was a true sports fan who played basketball, and loved to watch football no matter who was playing.

He is survived by his loving companion Bev Vannatta; son Scott (KC) of California; daughter Paula Dodds (Doug) of Colorado, her 2 sons and 2 grandchildren; sister Naomi Morehart, her 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren; brothers Larry (Sharon), their 4 daughters and 4 grandchildren, and Gary (Nellie), their 5 children;and and 15 grandchildren; and longtime friends Roger Steen and Bill Syfert. He was preceded in death by his parents Ellsworth and Anna Witherspoon, and nephew Gary Witherspoon, Jr.

Newcomer Funeral Home will provide burial and graveside services at Elk Cemetery, in McArthur, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 18th.
