Terry Deane Carsner, passed away on January 15, 2020 at the age of 71. He was born on April 1, 1948 at Columbus, Ohio to Bobby D. and Bonita Artrup Carsner who preceded him in death.
Funeral Services will be held at the Heritage Free Will Baptist Church 575 Obetz Road Columbus, Ohio 43207 on Tuesday, January 21st, 2020 at 11am with his pastor and friend, Tim Stout. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue till time of service.
Terry retired from Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served 1968 - 71 in Vietnam War, and was a member of Heritage Free Will Baptist Church since May 6th, 2007.
On January 26, 1968, he entered into The United States Army. Terry was a decorated service member. While serving in Vietnam he achieved the National Defenses Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 DVC, The Army Commendation Medal, Two Overseas Bars, and was noted as an Expert in Rifling with the M-14.
He had some collegiate experience but was also educated during his service in Code of Conduct, Geneva Convention and clerical work. He was Honorably discharged August of 1970 after his time at the Fort Riley Kansas 5th US Army base.
Terry came to faith in Christ as a young child while attending Frank Road Nazarene Church. His mother and grandmother, along with Billy Graham Ministries were very influential in his spiritual life.
Terry will be remembered as a servant. He testified how he was not perfect but was kept in God's Hand of protection through all the storms and adversities. Terry has been a part of several church and choirs. He has humbly served the Lord. He had a burdened heart for his non-Christian friends. The Lord and faith have been a very vital part of his life.
Our loss in Heaven's gain. A great reunion has taken place in Heaven. We are saddened but rejoice that Terry is now with his Lord and family.
Terry leaves behind a loving church family and friends. He will be truly missed.
Burial will follow in procession to Franklin Hills Memorial Park, Canal Winchester,OH.
