Teresa Sue Marcum, age 62, went home to be with the Lord on March 12, 2020. She was born on June 29, 1957 to the late Mary "Lois" and Ernest Marcum in Holden, West Virginia.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Rhonda (Chris) Lawson, Jennifer Marcum, Charlene Marcum; siblings, Barbara Bennett, Sharon (Dany) Tiano, Judy Nickels, Anita (Tom) Hogan, Lisa (Terry) Caldwell, Jeanie (Matt) Thomas, Tracy (Mike) Boehm; grandchildren, Hannah and Meghan Bennington and Allie Darst, Madilynn, Brennan and Lauren Lawson, Amber Peters, Arianna Granberry and Amiah Richards; great-grandaughter, Iris Bennington-Hand; many many nieces, nephews and cousins. Teresa was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Craig and Larry Alfred Marcum; granddaughter, Alylissa Marcum; brother-in-law, Tom Bennett.
Everything Teresa did in her whole life has been in service of her daughters, grandchildren and family. She's fought a long, hard battle over the last 4 1/2 years... She's had enough. Teresa, you have left your mark on this world and all who were blessed to know you. You've left a legacy. You've earned your rest. We know you worry about your girls, grandchildren and family. They'll be okay. We'll all be okay. We have each other and we'll have you watching over us. It's okay to let go now, to leave the pain of this illness and rest peacefully in the arms of our Lord. You've more than earned it. Though our hearts ache and break today, we know we'll meet again. We will always admire the love, strength, courage, dedication and self-sacrifice it took to raise 3 girls on her own and love everyone who crossed her path. She was a God-fearing force to be reckoned with. She loved so fiercely...and now she's "finer than a frog hair and you know how fine that is. So damn fine you can't see it!"
We have so many more memories. We could go on forever. But we never remember her complaining over the years, even through this terrible illness. We remember her faith, her many prayers. We remember statements like, "God's got me", "He will never leave me or forsake me", "It's all part of His plan even if we cannot see or understand it", "He will never give us more than we can bear" and "God makes a way where there seems to be none."
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 2-4:00 p.m. at Newcomer-SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway in Grove City. The Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 p.m.
