Raymond William Spillman, 84, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on October 31, 2020 following a long, heroic fight with respiratory issues.
Ray leaves his wife and rock of 63 years Donna (McClary) and their five children Mary Cannon, Rick (Sandy) Spillman, Vicki (Ricky) Wright, Patti (Dan) Damron and Kelli Spillman (Ellen Garling longtime and beloved family friend). Ray and Donna are blessed with twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, all of whom were the loves of his life and whose visits he cherished. Ray was the youngest of eight children and is survived by one brother (Carl McAuley) and two sisters (Betty Shade and Ruth Parr). Ray is preceded in death by his parents (Raymond and Martha Spillman), one brother and three sisters, one daughter (Donna Lynn Spillman), one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
The family extends their sincere thanks and gratitude to neighbors Charlie and Diana Conrad for always lending a helping hand.
Ray was a carpenter by trade a proud member of Local 200 of the Carpenter's Union. He also spent many years working at Lowe's where he established life-long friendships. Ray enjoyed listening to swing music, playing Blitz, watching Hallmark movies and reality TV shows and in his day was an avid roller skater and loved to dance. Ray was a leap year baby (which really makes him only 21 years old) and which allowed him most years to celebrate his birthday on both February 28 and March 1, but he preferred a week-long birthday celebration. Ray will be deeply missed by all.
