Daniel Edward Smith

Daniel Edward Smith, age 67, of Canal Winchester, Ohio passed away on June 11, 2021. He was born on December 13, 1953 to Shirley Gibson; he was also loved and adopted by Walter and Kay Smith. Daniel retired from the city of Columbus after over 30yrs of faithful service as a health inspector.

Daniel dearly loved his wife, children, friends and pets. He proudly walked both of his daughters down the aisle on their wedding days. Dan was known to many as "Dan the Man" as he was a sociable and fun loving guy. He was spontaneous, enjoying last minute trips with his family to Cedar Point. He enjoyed family and friends the most during his annual Red, White and Boom party on the roof-top. Daniel could always find a reason to celebrate!

His family, who he has left behind to cherish his memory; includes his loving wife, Mary K. Choate-Smith; brothers, Don Dorman and Phillip Smith; his beloved children, daughter, Jodi (Troy) Eblin; children, Eric, Alyssa, Courtney and Kailee; son, Micheal Smith and his children, Devon Smith and Michaela Smith; daughter, Mandy Smith with son-in-law Lenny Ambrose and children, David Shenkman, Jacob Conkel, Bethany Conkel, Nick Ambrose, Jeannie Ambrose, Vito Ambrose, & Daniela Ambrose; stepdaughters; Abba (Aaron) Raver, and their children, Steven G. Schaefer III, Danyele Smith and Nathan Raver; Amanda (Paul) Monachino and son Anthony Monachino. Daniel also had two great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Kay Smith; sister, Margie Frye.
