On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, Eric Christian Stevens, loving son and father of one son passed away unexpectedly at the age of 54.
Eric was born on May 16, 1967, in Richmond, IN. He spent his childhood in Eaton, and Miamisburg, OH before moving to Grove City, OH in 1979. Eric attended Park Street Middle School and graduated Grove City High School in 1985. Eric was on the Grove City High School football, and wrestling teams and practiced aikido with his father who taught and coached at Grove City.
In 1989, Eric was married to Bobbi (Evans), until they divorced after 15 years in 2003. Eric was a strong, compassionate, loving friend and father and nothing was more important to him than his family. Eric had many close friends who were also very important to him, and he treated them like brothers. Eric would frequently offer help and put other's needs above his own and made sure everyone felt included in all activities regardless of their ability to participate. Eric enjoyed outdoor activities like fishing, hiking, camping, target shooting, and hunting. He often spent time outdoors with his friends on his grandparent's property in Athens, Ohio. Eric and his friends spent many nights and weekends playing D&D and other games as a group of brothers. He was often the leader of the group and moderator of the game. Eric was a certified pharmacy technician and phlebotomist. He also worked in retail and customer service. He was living in Columbus, Ohio at the time of his death.
Eric was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Anne Wilson, his Uncle Richard Wilson, grandparents Merritt and Vivian Stevens, and his aunt Marie "Cookie" Wilson.
He is survived by his son Hayden Stevens and his former wife Dr. Roberta "Bobbi" Payne and the following friends and family members:

Tom and Kyle Stephens – Brother and family

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church 3220 Columbus St. Grove City, Ohio 43123. The service will be held at 2pm followed by a reception in the Family Life Center of the church. The service will include an open invitation for any friends and family members to share their memories.
