Ralph Herman Reynolds died Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at St Ann's Hospital after a long illness. He was born to Violet and Ralph "Bud" Reynolds on September 11, 1934, in Little Hocking, Washington County, Ohio. After several years working at Kroger Bakery, Ralph found his way to Columbus Auto Parts, where he eventually retired. Not one to sit on his laurels, Ralph worked as a substitute custodian at Worthington Schools, where he also retired.
Ralph kept busy even in retirement. He looked forward to getting out of the house daily, thrifting, visiting yard and church sales, pioneer day events, gun shows, and especially the Flint Ridge Knap-In. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, learning about survival skills, leathercraft, knife making, and was a black powder enthusiast. He was a member of the Association of Ohio Longrifle Collectors, the Marine Corps League, and a Life Member of the NRA.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Violet Reynolds; his wife of 62 years, Laura Jean (Phillis) Reynolds; brothers Raymond and Ronald; sister Gladys Haydu; son-in-law Michael Matney; great-grandsons Connor and Seamus Marquis.
Ralph is survived by daughters Kim Bryson and Pamela Matney; sisters Mary Fagello and Dorothy (William) Burchett; brothers David, Michael, and Paul Garrold Reynolds; grandchildren Laura (Brian) Bryson, Michael Todd Landrie, Robert Landrie, and Paul (Sondra) Bryson; great-grandchildren Benjamin Bryson, Mycah Landrie, Oneita Bryson, Autumn Landrie, Robbi Landrie, Kaydence Landrie; beloved grand kitty and napping partner Zoey; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 18th, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a Memorial Service immediately following. Burial will take place in procession to Riverside Cemetery, Columbus - OH.
In lieu of flowers, read a book, learn a new skill, read with a child or teach them something new.
