Bill Leroy, age 80, passed away into the arms of his Savior on Monday, February 6, 2023, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born September 15, 1942, in Ironton, Ohio.
Bill was preceded in death by parents, Richard and Freida LeRoy. Survived to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Marie Guagenti-LeRoy of 22 years, children, Chris (Carol) LeRoy, Leslie (Mark) Medice, Louie (Shawn Marie) Guagenti, grandchildren, Meagan (Joe) Spicer, Jacob (Katie) LeRoy, Alec Medice, Jonathan Medice, Franco Guagenti, great-grandchildren, Addie, Sophia, Olivia Spicer and brother, Richard (Donna) LeRoy.
Bill had surgery for prostate cancer a year and half ago. His markers remained great until recently. The cancer returned fast and with a vengeance. With bravery and equal vengeance Bill fought back with no hesitation. Unfortunately, Bill lost his fight at the hospital with Marie and his children by his side. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, neighbor, and citizen. He was very generous with his time and was always genuinely interested in what you had to say. Bill had a passion and talent for art. Only the patience of a person like Bill would allow for the investment of time one needs for "pen and ink" method of expression he used. Patriotic to his country, Bill was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army. He loved his Golden Doodle (Molly) who joined him on many walks and car rides. Bill enjoyed helping Marie with landscape and garden projects. As an avid sports fan, Bill enjoyed attending grandchildren's sports and watching his teams the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds. Most of all everyone who knew Bill would agree he was selfless, kind, caring and always found the positive in people he met. Bill LeRoy was a true gentleman.
Family will receive friends 1PM-4PM Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, NW Chapel, 10051 Brewster Lane, Powell, OH 43065.
