Charles R. Meade

Charles R. Meade "Charlie", age 85 of Columbus OH went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 16, 2023.

Charlie was born in Logan, WV on March 7, 1938 to the late Leonard and Della Meade. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his wife of 46 years, Bonnie Meade, brothers Frank Meade, Eddie Meade, and Paul Meade, sisters Donna Lower and Velma Ramey, and step-daughter Wanda Lindsay. He is survived by sisters Betty (Jim) Anderson and Wanda (Gary) Bush, step-daughters Joyce Lockard and Debbie (Jim) Carney, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and other family and loved ones.

Charlie loved Jesus and placed his trust in Him. He would often ask others if they were a "BAC - Born Again Christian" and proceed to praise the Lord if they answered yes and prayed for them if not. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger days, but was better known as a great auto mechanic. He was a hard worker and provided well for the family he helped raise when marrying a women with 3 children and later helping raise 2 grandchildren. That's the type of man he was; he stepped up where others may have not. He enjoyed joking and making people laugh. He had an infectious and sometimes ornery smile that will be greatly missed.

The family would like to thank ProMedica Hospice for the excellent care given to Charlie and his family, particularly nurse Gwen, and aide Lori.

Visitation Monday, August 21, 2023 from 5-8pm at Newcomer, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at 12pm at the funeral home, with Rev. Michael Sammons officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Charlie's memory to ProMedica Hospice.
