Ruth E. Harkness

Ruth E. Harkness, 88, Columbus, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014. Ruth was born in Columbus, OH on January 29, 1926, to Frank and Mabel (Grimm) Frizzell and is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Clayton Phelps, second husband, E. Robert Alborn, third husband, Donald Harkness; brother, Frank Frizzell, Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Terry) Boggs; sons, Terry (Diana) Phelps and Craig (Angie) Phelps; also her second husband's children, Linda (Lane) Adams and Tom Alborn; grandchildren, Russell Boggs, Mindy (Kevin) Strouse, Brian (Molly) Phelps, Krista (Chris) Pannell; great-grandchildren, Cody Boggs, Keely Boggs, Kara Boggs, Brayden Strouse, Emerson Strouse, Brendon Phelps, Grace Phelps; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ruth was a member of the Phi Beta Psi Sorority and was a member of the Bethel International United Methodist Church.

Family and friends will gather at the Bethel International United Methodist Church, 1220 Bethel Road, Columbus, OH 43235 for a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 20, 2014, with visitation one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to the Phi Beta Psi Sorority c/o National Treasurer, 818 Monticello Court, Venice, FL 34209.
