In the darkness of the night;

It just seems long

When I look out the windows waiting for dawn.

Up in the sky; stars, planets - whatever it may be -

Go on shimmering endlessly;

The heavens look so free

So I will close my eyes, shut them tight

Think about soaring, I shall take flight!

Spread my wings no walls do I see

Freedom flight in the dark of the night.

Away from the pain - just for a while

Up with the angels - to dance in the clouds

See all the rainbows, one, two, and three.

Then touching my hand I see the lord, Jesus and he says to me -

It will be alright - for you are with me

go back now - for its the sun you shall see!

Down thru the clouds and back into my bed

Close my eyes, shut them tight

Back from Heaven to sleep thru the night

I know my time is coming and that's alright!

I know in my heart and all the love that I see
