Annie Laura Bennett passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio. Laura was greeted in heaven by her husband, Paul, son, Jeff, and a host of family, friends & pets…but not Nipper, because not all dogs go to heaven! Laura is survived by her sons Randy (Deb), Steve (Debbie) and Doug (Becky), daughter Paula (Andrew), daughter in law, Carol, 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
The 5th of 6 children, Laura was born on June 29, 1934 in Glendale, Utah to Rial Black and Kathleen Isom. She attended Dixie Junior College, where she met Paul. They were married in the Idaho Falls temple on August 7, 1953. Laura supported her husband through his army enlistment, dental school and residency, eventually settling in the Columbus, Ohio area in 1965.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Laura generously gave of her time and talents. In fact, often her children would ask if a freshly baked treat was for them, or to give away. Laura enjoyed gardening and sewing, and her grandchildren have fond memories of her strawberry jam.
