Albert James Smith Sr.

Albert James Smith Sr. 86, of Columbus, Ohio passed away at the Ohio State University Hospital on March 31, 2022. Albert was born on July 1, 1935, in Greenville, Mississippi to Lucian Smith Sr. and Priscilla Davis.
Albert worked at Buckeye Steel, The Ohio Packing Company and Otterbein University before retiring. Alberts hobbies were football, bowling, billiards and he was a huge fan of wrestling.
Albert was proceeded in death by his loving wife of 50+ years Alma Smith, his Parents Lucian Sr. and Priscilla Smith, his brothers Lucian, Willie and Samual Smith and his grandson Daniel Sharp Jr.
He is survived by his children Ronald Smith, Gene Smith, Guinese Wade, Priscilla Sharp, Cynthia (Tracy) Scott, Sherri Smith, Brenda Smith-Purnell, Regina Smith, Albert (Tiffany) Smith Jr. and over 60 grand and great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be April 15, 2022 from 9am until the time of service at 10:30am at Newcomers NE Chapel 3047 Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus, Ohio with Elder Janet Kimble-Smith officiating.
Burial will immediately follow at Evergreen Cemetery at 1401 Woodland Avenue Col, Ohio 43219.
