Albert Vanhoose, 84, of Columbus, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 13, 2010 after battling heart problems for some time. He was born December 14, 1925, in Ulysses, KY, son of the late Pastor John James and Alkie Pack Vanhoose. Al served in the Navy during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Messer Vanhoose; children, Albert E. Vanhoose, DEedda L. Vanhoose and James Michael Vanhoose; step children, Sarah (Michael) Herron, Edna (Robert) Mitchell, Tabi Cameron and Howard W. Cameron; 21 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 adopted grandchildren. Al was a 15 year member of Friends Worship Center. Very close to his heart was his Monday night Bible study that he spent most of his time preparing for. His many other duties include the food pantry "Coordinator" of sounds/visuals, visitations, counsel and Elder Sunday School class and Auditing Committee. Visitation will be Sunday, January 17, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Friends Worship Center, 3030 Clime Rd Columbus, OH, with the funeral service following visitation, and Pastor Bruce Bell and Pastor Howard Cameron, officiating. Interment will be Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM Sunset Cemetery 6959 W. Broad St. Galloway, OH. Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City.
