Alice Barber

Alice Barber, age 49, of Galena passed away Monday, June 30, 2003 at her residence. Preceded in death by brother, Louis Wheeler, and father-in-law, Arthur L. Barber. Survived by husband, Bruce E. Barber of Galena; children, Bryan,of Galena; Angela M. (Jason) Weizand , of Cardington; mother and father, Dorothy and Frank Wheeler of Johnstown; mother-in-law, Mary Helen Barber, of Galena; sister-in-law, Becky Wheeler, of Cincinnati; brother-in-law, Andrew (Jane) Barber, of Galena; Aunts, Louise Forcioni, of Columbus, and Josephine Dauer, of Westerville, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends! Alice graduated from Johnstown High School, Class of 1972, and Columbus State, where she made the dean's list two quarters. She worked at DCSC and the school age child care program for the YWCA, Westerville, and SACC program for Genoa Christian Academy. She loved working with children, and was a faithful member of Genoa Baptist Church. She loved to work with gourds, creating many beautiful items. She was a participant of the Ohio Gourd Show in Mt. Gilead. She loved leading people to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Visitation Thursday, 9:30-11 AM at Genoa Baptist Church 7562 Lewis Center Road. Funeral service 11 AM at the church. Pastor Wayne Booth and Pastor Frank Carl officiating. Interment in Pioneer Cemetery, Westerville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Genoa Christian Academy or Grady Memorial Hospital, Hospice, 561 W. Central Ave., Delaware, OH 43015.
