Alma M. Scales, 91, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Minerva Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 4, 1920 in Jackson, Mississippi. Alma was preceded in death by her husbands, Ivory Scales and Lawrence Miller. She retired from the Rockingham County Department of Social Services. Alma is survived by her daughter, Margaret (Robert) Day. Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd Columbus, with the memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Minerva Park.
