Ann Galloway Rupert Rinehart, age 89, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family with her favorite ID channel show playing on September 12, 2024.
Survived by her daughter Lucy Rupert (Michael Smith), grandson Canaan Madden, her cat Wild Ivy and grand dog Oscar. Special nieces and nephews Matt Diamond, Tom Naegele, Cheryl Cooper, Julie Goodall, Mark Naegele and their spouses. Lifetime friend of 84 years Nancy/Don Kelley. Ann's blended family; Rinehart, Pate, Brandt and Robinson. Numerous nieces nephews and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Herman and Lucy Galloway; sisters Jeanne Naegele and Patricia Diamond; husbands Keith R. Rupert and Gale A. Rinehart and nephew F.J. Diamond.
Ann went to St. Francis School of Nursing in 1952 where she obtained her R.N., she later continued her education and received her B.S. in Sociology. She worked at the State hospital for mental health and later at St. Anthony's where she worked many years in different areas and retired while she was Head of the Emergency Room.
She had many personal and professional accomplishments in her life. She was passionate about opening the first Rape Crisis Center in Columbus, Ohio at St. Anthony's and implemented the center in the ER. She was a light in many people's life! She loved to travel, the beach and books but Trump not so much...die hard Buckeye fan till the end...O-H. Special thanks to Mt. Carmel Home Health and Bella Care Hospice for helping her with her wishes to stay at home.
In lieu of flowers you may make memorial donations to Delaware County Humane Society online or mail to their Delaware Ohio address or to the Celebrate Life Foundation Bella Care Hospice Westerville, Ohio. Donations may also be made at her Celebration of Life at Planks Cafe 743 Parsons Ave. Columbus, Ohio on Oct. 15th from 2-6pm.
