Antonio Lugay
November 19, 1929 — August 17, 2015
Dr. Antonio Lugay, 85, formerly from Steubenville, Henderson NV, and recently Columbus, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Rehab Center of Gahanna.
Antonio was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Felicitas Gueco Lugay.
Doc Lugay came here from Matatalieb Tarlac, Tarlac in the late sixties to the US to start his Opthalmology practice and ended up in Steubenville.
He practiced in Steubenville for over 30 years.
He loved and adored his patients, the faithful office staff at his office on North 4th Street as well as all of the hospitals that he rounded in.
We are so grateful to the TriState area especially Steubenville who welcomed us and our family with open arms, the Lugay family will always call Steubenville their home.
Thank you to the wonderful friends, the Filipino community, and all who knew Doc.
He had a heart for others as he served and started several organizations that served others and also went on many medical missions trips to his homeland, the Philippines.
He was a devout Catholic who loved His Lord and that was evident in the kindness and servant attitude he had for his fellow man.
We will miss Dad but know that he is now rejoicing with our Lord in Heaven along with all of the dear relatives and friends who have gone before him.
We Love you Dad and know you and Mom can truly share eternity together with our Lord!
He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Amy) Lugay and kids- Darrien(22) Anthony(19) Emily(16) and Nicholas(13). Antonio (Melissa) Lugay of Scottsdale AZ Lugay and kids Annaleisa(15) Alexandria(7). Mike Lugay of Redondo Beach CA.
Memorial service will be Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 5:00 PM at Faithlife Church, 2407 Beech Rd. NW Johnstown, OH 43031.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
