Arnold "Gene" E. Peake, 74, of Columbus, passed away Monday, June 28, 2010 at Mt. Carmel West. He was born May 1, 1936, in Columbus, son of the late Arnold W. and Lillian Stilwell Peake. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Evoy; granddaughter, April Woodrum; brothers, Homer and James Peake; sister, Carolyn Peake. He was a member of the Lockbourne Church of Christ in Christian Union and also a member of Grace Under Fire Quartet. Gene retired from Duff Trucking with over 20 years of service and also from M.R.D.D. as a bus driver with 12 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Jessica Runyon Peake; daughters, Judy (Ernie) Salisbury, Doreen (John) McBee, Vicky (Joe) Woodrum, Amanda (Dan) Robertson, Loretta Damron, Lorraine (Jim) Carey and Christina (Jim) Balser; son, Clifton Damron Sr.; sisters, Linda Scammicca, Marilyn (David) Swisher and Ada McCoy; brother Charles Peake; grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, Deidra, Jason, Nikki, Jessica, J.J., Lisa, Karl, Clifton Jr., Steven, Melissa, Billy, Patrick and Britknee; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City. Funeral service will be Friday, July 2, 2010 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
