It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Artie Sias, who passed away on January 10, 2024. Born on February 8, 1947, Artie lived a long, fulfilling life, filled with love, wisdom, and cherished moments.
Artie was predeceased by his beloved wife, Caroline Sias, his parents and several siblings. Artie is survived by his loving family. His legacy lives on in his sons, Shawn, Artie Christopher, and Jason, and his daughters, Heidi and Teresa and his sister, Annice Sias-jones. His grandchildren, Shanan, Shawna, Shane, Jesse Lee, Shayla, Kaylee, Shawn (booda), Ryan Gillenwater, Justin Baird, Sarah, and Christopher Sias, and several great grand children, will miss their grandfather's caring, loving, and generous spirit. Artie's stubbornness was a trait that highlighted his resilience and determination, qualities he instilled in his family.
Artie retired in 1993 from a fulfilling career in the Army, where he received many accolades and proudly served his country as a Sergeant First Class. His medals and accomplishments are a testament to his dedication and commitment.
Artie took pleasure in the simple joys of life. He was a great fan of breakfast foods, buttermilk, root beer, and Gatorade. He loved listening to Amazing Grace and was a fan of Western TV shows, particularly Tombstone. An avid sports fan, he cheered for the Cincinnati Reds, Buckeyes, and Browns. His favorite pastimes included spending time with family, watching ball games, and doing puzzles.
In his life, Artie championed the causes of St. Jude and the Shriners, always lending a hand where he could. His favorite colors were blue and red, indicative of his vibrant and lively personality.
Artie's teachings of respect for others and the importance of loving your family will forever resonate with those who had the privilege of knowing him. His beautiful blue eyes, sweet chuckle, and joyous singing will be terribly missed.
A funeral service to celebrate Artie's life will take place on January 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM at the Cypress Church Alton Darby Campus. Artie's life was a testament to caring, love, and generosity, and he leaves behind an undying legacy in his family and friends. He will be greatly missed, and forever in our hearts.
