Augustus (Gus) Daniels, age 95, went home to be with his Lord and Savior while surrounded by loved ones on April 23rd, 2023. He was born on December 4th, 1927 in Paintsville Kentucky to Floyd and Alta Daniels.
He is survived by four sons: Denver (Pattie) Daniels, David (Tina) Daniels, Darrell (Cathie) Daniels, Doug (Kim) Daniels and one daughter: Diana (Tim) McGowan, six grandchildren: Jesse (Cara) Daniels, Lathe Daniels, Jenavieve (Keegan) Kirwin, Leslie (Ryan) Kizer, Shayla McGowan and Peyton Daniels, and six great-grandchildren, Megan Daniels, Casey Daniels, Felicity Daniels, Michael Kizer, Isabella Kizer and Gwenevere Kirwin.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Frances Rose Daniels, parents, step-mother, Bessie, five brothers, Nile, Denver, Floyd, Glenville and Johnny Daniels, three sisters, Anna Lee Renfro, Ollie Webb and Beatrice Vanhoose, grandchild Jared Daniels and great-grandchild Alex Daniels.
Gus was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War, long-time member of the Paint Union Association of United Baptists, 20-year retiree of Suburban Motor Freight and an avid University of Kentucky athletics fan. He loved to play golf, watch old westerns, and feed the neighborhood wildlife. He was a hard-working and loving husband, father, grand-father, great-grandfather and friend, who was also ornery and loved to make everyone laugh. He will be dearly missed by all.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 11am until the time of service at 1pm at Newcomer NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin Granville Rd. Columbus with Pastor Ben Schwieterman officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, Columbus.
