SHOEMAKER
B. Robert Shoemaker, 85, Columbus, passed away Monday, May 31, 2010. Bob was born to Byrl and Clara (Beach) Shoemaker in Columbus on September 28, 1924, and is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 62 years, Charlene (Dent) Shoemaker; sister, Amy Quinn. Survivors include his daughters, Pam (Tim) Taylor, Robin (Mark) Shumaker, Jana Iacampo; grandchildren, Jena (Nick) Kraner, Paige Taylor, Carmen Iacampo, Mia Iacampo; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Bob served during WW II with the US Army. His accomplishments and memberships include past president and very active in the Columbus Men's Bowling Association, inducted into the Columbus Bowling Hall of Fame, received many bowling awards, bowled 50 consecutive years in the ABC Bowling Tournament and a 32 Degree Mason. Bob owned and operated Shoemaker Equipment Rental Inc. for 65 years and was very active in the Columbus and Cincinnati Rental Associations. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010, 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, NE Chapel, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road, Columbus, OH with the Funeral Service on Monday, June 7, 2010, 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center, OH.
