Barbara Ann Hopkins-Kendrick, 73, was called into eternal rest on January 31, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
Relocating to Columbus in 1960 from West Virginia Barbara united with Gay Street Baptist (renamed Tabernacle Baptist).
She was a member of the Eastern Star Ella Chapter and served as a church school secretary for over 30 years.
Barbara retired from Anheuser Busch Inc. in 1994 with over twenty years of service.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynnette DeAnn and Willie R. Dawsey II; sister, Maurita S. Ferguson; brothers, Kenneth O. (Orange) Hopkins and Frank E. (Vivian) Hopkins Jr.; grandchildren, Barbara DeAnn (Damon) Crosby, W. Ray/Ray J.(Ashley) Dawsey III; great grandchildren, Raivn Crosby, Mila, Ava and Allison Dawsey; special nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Ron) Green, Ryeisha Hopkins, Asia and Jackson Green; brothers-in-law, Jethro (Jackie) Kendrick and Daymond (Velma) Kendrick.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Frank Hopkins Sr.; husband, Willie F. Kendrick; son, Williard Myron Kendrick; mother and father-in-law, Mae E. and George Benny Kendrick; special friend, Solomon Neismith.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 5:00-6:30 PM at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2188 Woodward Ave. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 6:30 PM.
Private interment will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus.
