Barbara Ann Hopkins

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Ann (Myers) Hopkins, age 87, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, on March 19, 2025. Barbara was born in Barberton, Ohio on December 5th, 1937 to Charles C. Myers and Ann (Merrill) Myers. She graduated from Port Washington High School in 1956 and married William J. Hopkins on October 17th,1958 in Gnadenhutten, Ohio.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Gretchen (Hopkins) Estep; granddaughter Taylar Hopkins; sisters Eleanor Jane Lingo and Dorothea Johnson; and a brother, Robert Beasley.

She is survived by her husband, William, of Mount Vernon, Ohio; her sons, Bryan (Carol) Hopkins of Muncie, Indiana; Eric Hopkins of Columbus, Ohio; Joel (Amy) Hopkins of Mount Vernon, Ohio; and Aaron (Holly) Hopkins of Muncie, Indiana; a son-in-law, David Estep, of Gahanna, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Sue Wilson of Newcomerstown, Ohio; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. She served humbly and quietly alongside her husband for 66 years in ministry at various churches of Christ in West Virginia, Florida and Ohio. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, and crafts, and she always looked forward to the next competitive game of Dominoes.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm at Northland Church of Christ 4581 Cleveland Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43231.
