Barbara Lee Hordge, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on December 2, 2022 at the age of 76. She was born on January 5, 1946 in Huntington, West Virginia to Gladys and Ray Lee Martin.
Barbara Lee's parents moved to Columbus when she was just three years old. She attended Fairwood Elementary, Franklin Middle, and was a proud graduate of East High School. She started her early career at Mercy Hospital and later retired from Ohio State University. She was the eldest grandchild whom everybody loved and looked up to. Barbara loved to cook, watch her cowboy stories and spend time with her family. She will be remembered by her sense of humor and big heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray Lee and Gladys Martin; loving husband, Edward Hordge; sister, Vivian Martin; and grandchildren, Marisha Jackson, Charlee Martin, and Keshawndre Carter.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Laura (Quinton) Marsh, Delores Draper, Letitia (Therman) Martin, Janetta (Dennis) Taylor, and Gladys Martin; son, Donald (Angel) Carter; brothers, Kenneth D. Clarence (Cynthia) and Charles Martin; aunt, Eloise Montgomery; grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, including Step Sisters Doris Brown; the Banks sisters, Best Friends Diane Wade, and Marva Roberts.
Friends may call at the Good Samaritan Baptist Church 1680 E Fulton St, Columbus, Ohio 43205 on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 10:00am until time of funeral service at 12:00pm. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
