Barbara J. Wilburn, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2022 at her home. She was born May 4, 1931 to the late Charles and Olive Ely in Indianapolis, IN.

She was a graduate of Capital University where she received her bachelor's degree in Music. She married the love of her life George in December of 1950 and the two of them were a loving team until George's passing in March of 2017. Barbara was a piano teacher, organist, choir director, vocalist, church board member, and admin assistant, until her retirement.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved traveling and vacations with family and friends. Barbara was a charter member of Karl Rd. Christian Church and a vital member of College Hill Christian Church in Cincinnati and Allisonville Christian Church in Indianapolis during her life in each city.

She lived a life of love and faith and is a light in this world. Great compassion and amazing grace.

Along with her parents and husband George, she is preceded in death by her son Doug and Sister Lorraine.

Barbara is survived by her children David (Sarah) Denny, Sandy (Kendal) Nagy and Cheryl (Tom) Mitchell; grandchildren Solomon (Sheli) Wilburn, Kyle (Emily) Nagy, and Dr. Adam (Kelly) Nagy, Ryan (Jenny) Mitchell, Kelly (Tyler) Hampton, and Lisa (Scott) Radcliff and 11 great-grandchildren and many friends, especially Dot McKnight and family, Phyllis Hogatt, the lunch bunch and Barbie Lemaster.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held in the future. Memorial contributions may be made to the childhood Leukemia Foundation or a charity of your choice.
