Benjamin E. Roman, 39, of Columbus, Ohio died September 6, 2022. He was born at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio on July 16, 1983. Benjamin acquired a universal HVAC license in 2015 by studying under
ESCO Institute and Mainstream Engineering Corp in Florida. He also had various carpentry skills that he learned working with his father. He was a talented musician, constantly writing lyrics and music to play on his guitar. Since he was a "lefty", he would turn his "right handed" guitar upside down to play. No one could figure out how in the world he could do it, but with Benji, "where there was a will, there was a way".
Benjamin became caught up in the drug epidemic that would plague him until his death. He was deeply spiritual and would recover for months at a time, but soon the chains of addiction would wrap themselves around his life and bring him down once again. "The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak". Matthew 26:41. Right before his death, he was successfully sober for 6 months. He was so happy and excited to accomplish his dream of owning a company. He started Trust Built and would employ people from a recovery center he had attended, for people seeking sobriety. He would pick them up and take them to work and then drive them home.
Now Benjamin is no longer in the bondage of addiction. He is free. He is with his brother, Jordan, who preceeds him in death by 21 yrs. He never found the right woman to share the love he had in his heart, but now he is loved more in heaven than he ever could have been here on earth
God used his life in so many ways. To name a few, he was a mentor and an inspiration to those who struggled, because he understood their pain and suffering. He also literally saved the lives of at least 8 people who were overdosing.
I agree with my friend who said that if our love could have saved him, he would still be here, and his cousin who said, "Heros come in many forms, he was one of them."
