Bernard Butcher, 79, passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and maker on May 10, 2011 . He was preceded in death by his parents, James Butcher and Cleo Johnson; son, Dwayne Butcher and brother, Earl Butcher. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lee Ann; children, Denise Parker, Deborah Harlow, Dedra (Don) Thompson, DeLita Butcher and D'Norris (Vicki) Butcher; David and Sheila Hopkins; brother, Pearl (Daisy) Butcher; grandchildren, Ed, Bobbi Jo, Rob, Jason, Kevin, Amy, Karen, Eric, Derrick, Jessie, Mike, Joey, Jeff, Amanda, Matthew, Melissa; 15 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Brenda Butcher; as well as nieces and nephews. Bernard was a member and elder at Central Avenue Church of Christ and Christian Union. He retired from Merchandise Warehouse after 26 years of service. He also served in the United States Air Force. Visitation Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6-8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral Service Friday, May 13, 2011 at 1 pm at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Obetz Cemetery, Obetz, OH.
