Bernice Evans, 74, Worthington, went to be with her heavenly Father on Thursday morning, March 1, 2007, surrounded by her loving family. Born to Kenneth and Theresa (Baietto) Rushing, August 31, 1932, in Illinois, Bernice is preceded in death by her father. Survivors include: mother; husband, Grady Sr; son, Grady Jr. (Donna) Evans; daughter, Jan (Dan) Bryant; grandchildren, Bradley, Brandon and Blake Evans, and Hope and Daniel Bryant III; brother, Bill Rushing; sister, Shirley Mitchell; numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cherished friends. Bernice often worked the night shift as a private duty Registred Nurse. Bernice and their children served along side Grady Sr. in many church starts and small churches throughout Ohio, and Missouri. Often she graciously hosted as many as 35 college and international students overnight in her home. Additionally, she visited, ministered and taught infants thru adult Bible and mission classes. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM, Saturday, March 3, 2007, at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3047 East Dublin Granville Road (SR 161) at Westerville Road (SR 3), Columbus, OH. The celebration of Bernice's life will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, March 5, 2007, at Sharon Woods Baptist Church, 5959 Sharon Woods Blvd. (off SR 161), Columbus, OH.
