Bertha Wairimu Kihara Wairegi, 42, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 25, 2011. She was born in Arusha, Tanzania to the late Evan Kamau Dedan and Zifira Mumbi Kanio and is also preceded in death by her brother, William; sister, Esther; brother-in-law, Pius. Survivors include her husband, Patrick Wairegi Gakure; children, Gathoni, Gakure and Kamau; father and mother-in-law, John and Elizabeth Gakure; siblings, John, Simon, James, Grace, Lucy and Leah; brothers-in-law, Maxwell and Kevin; sisters-in-law, Lilian, Jane, Anne, Patricia. In 1974 God provided Bertha with a second family at SOS Children's Village, Nairobi where she was well and lovingly cared for by Eleonorah Mshila (Mama Kamau). She was sister to Benson, Felix, Lawrence, Sally, Lilian, Mildred, Victoria, Michael O, Fredrick, Michael M, Joyce, Maria, Moses, Naomi, Emmaculate and Faith. Bertha worked for the Discover Financial Services from 2005 to 2010 in Columbus. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011, 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at Christian Life Fellowship, 830 Morrison Road, Gahanna, OH with the Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, Columbus, OH.
