Betty Ann Bowers, 74, of Columbus, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born December 21, 1936, in Columbus, daughter of the late Clarence and Ella Gilbert Bowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence Jr., Robert, Theodore, William and Kenneth Bowers. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria (William) Owens, Sandy Martin and Darlene Binford; sons, Michael (Renee) Binford, Larry (Darla), Wayne and Alonzo Kelso; sisters, Carmen Washington and Patricia (Michael) Hynes; brothers, Richard (Amanda), Stanley Bowers and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 9:00-10:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home NE Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Rd. Columbus, with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office-FRAN 870 Michigan Avenue Columbus, OH 43215.
