Our mom, Betty Faris, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 in Grove City, Ohio. She was born in Portsmouth Ohio on April 10, 1936 to William and Clara Bowen. Our dad and her husband, Robert Arnold Faris, passed away back in 2003 just after the Buckeyes won the 2002 National Championship. My sister, Sharon of Garner NC, and I, Bruce Faris (Taleasa) of Junction City Ohio, would like you to know a couple things about mom. She was called g'maw by her grandkids, West (Katie), Melissa (Jordan) and Elliot. Her great granddaughter, Evie, also called her g'maw. She was an avid Buckeyes' fan wherever they happened to live. When mom went out, everything would match; clothes, jacket, earrings, gloves, umbrella, and even her sunglasses. She was joyful and kind. Everyone who met her thought she was humble, sweet and they loved her. She was a great cook but also loved to go out to dinner with the family and even had a glass of wine or two. She rarely missed Jazzercise and had many adventures with her friends such as going to concerts, cruises and even trips to other countries. She was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and is now with her Lord and Savior. We have other stories to share so please join us for a Memorial Service and a Celebration of Life, including lunch, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on April 13, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church, 4227 Broadway, Grove City, OH 43123. Please email us at Betty36gobucks@gmail.com to let us know you're coming, attach a picture or two, and let us know if you would like to share a story during the celebration. Also, please consider making a donation to Hospice in lieu of flowers.
