Betty A. Hicks

Betty Ann Hicks (Fryer), age 73, of Grove City, passed away on November 23, 2024 at OSU Medical Center.

Betty was born on June 12, 1951, in Rush, Kentucky, to George and Lizzie (Berry) Fryer. She married Mike Hicks in 1969, and they enjoyed 55 years together. Betty was a loving mother to her son, Michael Hicks, and a cherished grandmother to Brady Hicks and Sydney Coverdale. 

Betty worked for many years at Sears Distribution, Lazarus, and in childcare, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and dedication. She was also deeply involved in the lives of her family and friends, enjoying long conversations, reading, and spending time with loved ones. Betty had a special fondness for yellow roses, and her sweet smile and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her. 

She is survived by her husband, Mike Hicks; son, Michael Hicks; grandchildren, Brady Hicks and Sydney Coverdale; brother, Kevin Fryer; aunt, Phyllis Sue Brewster; and numerous other aunts, uncles, and extended family. Betty was predeceased by her parents, George and Lizzie Fryer, and her brother, George Ray Fryer. 

In accordance with Betty's wishes, no formal ceremony will be held, and she will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Nationwide Children's Hospital. 

Betty's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
