Betty Jo Delong

Betty Jo Delong, age 75, Orient, Ohio passed on September 2, 2015. She was born on October 14, 1939 in Nashville, Tennessee to parents Freda A. and Joseph G. Anderson. She graduated in 1957 from Central High School, and retired after 30 years employment with the Columbus Division of Police. She was a faithful member of Alkire Road Church of Christ.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clarence "Sonny" DeLong, children: Lora (Rick) Kerschner, Melissa Hawk, Kevin (Rebecca) DeLong; grandchildren: Keith (Chelsea) Carey, Katrina (Ryan) Fullen, Andrew Hawk, and Alexander Hawk; great-grandchildren: Owen Carey, Sullivan Carey, and Sheppard Carey.
She loved animals, gardening, reading, and her church family.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 8PM Friday September 4, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home SW 3393 Broadway Grove City, OH 43123. A funeral will be held at the funeral home at 10AM Saturday September 5, 2015, with burial to follow in Concord Cemetery.
