Betty K. Heite, 77, of Grove City, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2010, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born to Daniel A. and Bertha (Rhodes) McKown in Columbus and is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Albert Heite. Survivors include her sons, Jim Shankle and Mike (Lisa) Shankle; brother, Daniel (Lee) McKown; grandchildren, Tami (Andy) Stemen, Jennifer Maddux and Aaron Maddux; great-grandson, Austen Shankle; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Betty was an active volunteer for numerous organizations including Inner City Ministries. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 3, 2010, 4-8 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH with the Funeral Service on Thursday, March 4, 2010, 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Carmel Hospice, C/O Mount Carmel Foundation, 793 West State Street, Columbus, OH 43222-9988.
