Betty Jane Nelson, 80, of Columbus, passed away December 12, 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Nelson; parents Casper and Ethel (Sheets) Strickler and sisters Thelma Strickler Martindale and Martha Strickler Smith. Betty is survived by her children Ronald A. Nelson, Kathie (Patrick) Swanson, Barbara (Steve) Clapper, Jeanette (Karl) Maki; grandchildren Jason, Jeremy and Jessica Nelson, Jack and Sean O'Neill, George Schmalstig, Tanya Dains; 4 great-grandchildren Trinity, Lauren, Connor and Isabela and brother Casper Strickler Jr. Betty worked at Grove City Farmers Exchange for 25 years and most recently at Ohio Manufactures Association. She was a 1943 graduate of Grove City High School. Betty loved reading and playing Bunko with her friends at Greystone Village. Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Friday, December 16, 2005 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00PM Wednesday, December 14, 2005 and 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, December 15, 2005 at the funeral home. Rev. Robert Martindale will be officiating with interment at Grove City Cemetery. Messages of condolence may be left at www.newcomerfamily.com
